Selection Process

Students are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic Proficiency

  • Extracurricular Activities

  • Character and All-around Ability

  • Financial Need

The selection is a blind process and is based solely on the information the applicant provides in the completed application and required documents. The information provided is kept confidential within the Scholarship Selection Committee and the Foundation.

The Anchor Scholarship Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, nationality, ethnic origin, or religion in the administration of any of its educational policies, programs and operations.

 

Eligibility

Dependent children or spouses whose service member meets the following requirements:

  • Sponsor is active duty or retired US Navy.
  • Sponsor has served a minimum of six (6) years in a unit under the administrative control of Commander, Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Atlantic Fleet or U.S. Pacific Fleet.  The 6 years need not be consecutive.
  • All requirements must be met at time of application deadline.
 
Criteria
  • Applicant must attend an accredited, four-year college or university in the United States and intend to work toward their first bachelor's degree on a full time basis.
  • Applicant may be a high school Senior or a college student in an accredited school or equivalent educational institution.
